Madame Tussaud's – New York is located at 234 West 42nd Street, Times Square. As you may know, Madame Tussaud's is the world's most famous wax museum, located in London. What you may not know is that it also opened its doors in Times Square in New York City in 2000. Visitors to the Museum experience an adventure through the world of celebrities and world leaders in the public eye as well as human history, with the highlight on power and fame.
Today, the ropes and poles separating visitors from the wax figures have gone, enabling guests to get "up close and personal" with the figures. The institution actually first gained renown as a sort of traveling newspaper, bringing news to life with wax figures at a time when all that most people had was word-of-mouth. Today, Madame Tussaud's continues its grand tradition of telling the tale of important people in history, with the latest addition: a figure of President Barack Obama.
